چکیده
A review is provided of length–length relationships (LLR) for common carp (Cyprinus carpio L., 1758) at the global scale. In total, 16 studies were retrieved from a comprehensive literature search that LLR C. populations 26 water bodies consisting rivers, lakes and reservoirs across nine countries in four continents. There was large variation LLR, which available all six possible combinations fork standard length, due to wide range fish sizes measured. This first study provides can be used as reference base future age-growth population dynamics on this species.

Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio
The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Their habitats are usually weedy areas with a muddy bottom. Carp fry feed on zooplankton such as rotifers and copepods, but as they grow up they become benthic feeders, feeding on animals and other organic material. The cyprinids h...

متن کاملHelminth infections in common carp, Cyprinus carpio L., 1758 (Cyprinidae) from Kovada Lake (Turkey).
The aim of this study which was carried out from March 2003-February 2004 was to determine the parasites of carp (Cyprinus carpio L., 1758) inhabiting the Kovada Lake. During the study, a total of 63 common carps were caught in different regions of Kovada Lake each month and investigated parasitologically. In carps, the ectoparasite, Dactylogyrus minutus of Monogenea, was found and endoparasite...
متن کاملA Comparison between Tilapia zilli (Gervais, 1748) (Preciformes: Cichlidae) and Common Carp Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus, 1758) (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae) by Staining Bone Technique
The method of staining bones is considered as one of the adopted means in studying the tissues and bones as well as the organs by which a comparison between fish species can be made as of Potthoff (Potthoff, 1984). The main objective of this study is to identify the tissue and skeleton differences between some species of fish which can enhance the taxonomic studies other than the taxonomic diff...
متن کاملThe reserpine effects on the gonadotrophic cells of the male common carp Cyprinus carpio (Osteichtyes: Cyprinidae).
The secretion of gonadotropins (GtH) in goldfish and carp, is stimulated by GtH-releasing hormone (GnRH) and is inhibited by dopamine. Studies with antidopaminergics have demonstrated to be effective in order to stimulate the spermiation and the ovulation in different species of teleosts. The reserpine, a drug that deplets the dopamine, has shown to stimulate the spermiation in the common carp....
